En route from Graskop to Kruger Park

Today was the first sunny day of our stay: it's so lovely to feel the sunbeams on your face. It gave our short trail to the forest falls an extra dimension. Afterwards we drove to Kruger Park and had our first encounter with cattle on the road. While I'm typing this, there's a hyena walking in front of our safari tent (so cool). Do not fear: there's a gate separating the hyena from me. Made me realize I'm quickly gonna put the pics on the blog and am going to enjoy the view! I can already see the moon and H is busy with the braai so I'm going to have a lovely dinner.

Graskop

Had a lovely drive from Johannesburg to Graskop in a huge rental car nicknamed 'Biggy', inspired by Notorious B.I.G. In a 5 hour drive I got a rap recap by H and I especially loved the women friendly lyrics by 'Biggy'...

Graskop? Indeed, it really does exist. A small village nearby Kruger park totally into pancakes... (Lonneke: eat your heart out;) Seriously, 1 out of 3 restaurants have the 'p' word in their company name. Have got to confess (entre nous) that my dessert was a creme caramel... It was (surprisingly?!) not a success.
A selection of the Hipstamatics I took along the day:

Johannesburg by night (and Paris along the way)

Just arrived@Johannesburg. During the flight I got inspired by 'midnight in Paris' and decided to visit Le Marais (again;-) in 2012. During les journees Nomades, a creative art weekend in spring in haut Marais. Can't wait to 'meet' South Africa by day. Tomorrow headed for Graskop.

Out of Africa

So exicted! Headed for South Africa in a couple of hours. Craving for nature, relaxation, sand between my toes, lovely food & wines and inspiration.
