Queensday

Queensday: I absolutely love it! And yesterday the weather was so amazing (a miracle!) I couldn't even believe it. We started the day at a 'Moulin Orange' party at the city theatre in Amsterdam around midnight. It was real fun and a good excuse to wear my orange dress (ok, it's not really orange but it's got an orange undertone;- )Overday we went to the 'Jordaan' The best place to be in my opinion. The centre is way too busy and the Jordaan is so much fun. Lots of live gigs on the streets, the people are relaxed and you can buy loads of yummie food. It's really a delicious area, also during the rest of the year. We also discovered some new very cute shops (they were closed of course) but we made some lovely inspirational pics which shall be placed on the Coeur Blonde blog and also on innersphere. ANd hope you'll enjoy the pics above! Today I'm a lucky girl because I'm off from work. A lovely extra day to chill, so wonderful...

Pompon

Pompon is a tiny shop, full of beautiful, amazing flowers. At the beginning of the Prinsengracht (nearby the Noordermarkt)you can find Pompon. Ik bought this lovely rose to celebrate the start of the peonyrose season. I ♥ them! At the site of Pompon you can find some examples of flowers turned into art.

Neighbourfoodmarket pics

Oysters

Lovely organic prosecco

Real Italian coffee!

shaped latte

You can buy the furniture!

Kitsch...

Kitsch XL (15 euro ;- )

What a delicious market! Have had the most wonderful afternoon with oysters, pumpkin taleggio pie, risotto with asparagus (you can buy it per spoon!), warm chorizo sausages, grilled lamb meat and real Italian coffee. I really love the concept of the market and there's such a nice atmosphere, everybody's simply enjoying the bites and drinks, chatting with each other and sitting on long tables. And you never know, perhaps you can find that piece of furniture that's missing in your home. There were actually some nice objects but I found the table above so funny, I couldn't resist taking a pic.

Sunday's Neighbourfoodmarket

Looking forward to tomorrow's Neighbourfoodmarket in Westerpark. If you live in Amsterdam and haven't got plans for sunday, you should really check it out. Lovely food & drinks and you can even buy the furniture of the market. A wonderful lunch spot!

Bar Moustache

Just discovered Bar Moustache: a lovely bar~restaurant in the Utrechtsestraat. It's stylish but simply decorated, friendly staff (quite unusual;)and the ambiance is really relaxed. Just had a small meal: zuppetta di pomodoro fresco con mozzarella di bufala & baked potatoes. And have got to say, both were absolutely delicious. It was the best soup I had in a while and the potatoes were fantastic. Real Italian style: some olive oil, rosemary, garlic (subtle!) and sage. The pinot grigio was a subtle wine. The pics are from the site (was enjoying the food so much I forgot to take pictures;)And they also serve breakfasts and I've got the feeling that this is a real recommendation. Can't wait to try the ricotta pancakes with blueberries!

Sweet dreams and I'm so happy: it's weekend!

Sunday Market: Valentine style

It's valentine's sunday at the Sunday Market! The perspective of all those cute handmade romantic stuff makes me smile. I rationalize the commercial aspect of Valentine's day today because it's a small market with people who make / cook their products with love and attention. Matching today's weather I selected the above two stands I'm so not going to miss today! The first one is a mobile soup bus. Will be a huge succes today;-) Some warm comfort food is just the thing the visitors will need. And well, beanies, need I say more? I absolutely love this colour. They also have a webshop by the way.

Identity crisis

I just woke up after the most lovely sleep in quite a while which made me extremely happy and I also realized how important a good night's sleep is;-) And the fabulous sun is shining! It's white, sunny and magical so I really want to go outside. This time on my Uggs, whahaa. So the picture above covers al my inner fellings. I can feel the promise of the summer '12 already, even with -18 degrees celsius. So, if everything is going to work out (is is still safe to drive a car?!) I'm going to a biological market in Amsterdam Noord. Never been to this particular market so am a bit excited to come across some delicious products.

Snowy white Amsterdam

A snowy white Amsterdam: for the first time in 2012! Just outside I realized I bought Uggs last year... But to walk all those stairs back to my place I decided to take the risk whit my flat boots. Had a lovely white noon with D in Amsterdam. The crisp snow was absolutely amazing and we were so lucky to be the first ones to walk on the snowy Noordermarkt. That's so amazing: to be the first one to walk on a fully untouched white square. With a lovely church on the background.

Those are the small things that make me extremely happy. As well as the 'bounding' between people that seems to grow when something extraordinary (lots of snow in one hour) happens. D & I just felt that vibe in 'de Jordaan' area. All the owners of the small shops were outside cleaning the pavements, chatting and laughing. Really amazing. We had an inspiring talk with the owner of Unicorn boutique(really someone who follows her ), warm apple pie at Winkel (the best apple pie of Amsterdam), a delicious lunch at our all time favorite Italian restaurant Assaggi and we discovered a new Italian shop Il Mattarello . D & I bought their specialty: homemade ravioli and can't wait to taste them! And we've got some creative deadlines set for next week for our first joined project: the Coeur Blonde Newspaper. Am quite excited to be honest!

Exciting! A new home ♥

It's really exciting: I'm going to find a new home!!! It's my personal mission to find a new house within two months. A place full of light, spacial, lots of windows, a balcony, my own herb garden (on the balcony;) in that part of Amsterdam with lots of creative vibes: Westerpark or surroundings. Can't wait for spring to come because I already see myself on that balcony with a glass of delicious South African bubbles. I already got ideas about the colour scheme of the interior, the use of natural materials, lots of DIY accesoires and I just feel that it's going to be a wonderful growproject. I'm ready to start a new adventure! First things first: I need a new location, whahaa. As a exciting preparation I'm going to compose a moodboard for the interior this weekend for the look and feel!

NeighbourFood Market Amsterdam

What a delicious coincidence! Just returned from Capetown this morning to discover a new venue at the Westergasfabriek. From next sunday there will be a three-weekly NeighbourFood Market. With lots of local products and to me it seems it's goning to be a lovely meet and greet between 'good food' lovers. Just like the Neighbourgoodsmarket in Capetown. Am already thinking of post holiday blues coping strategies and to me it seems this new market has got the potential of being a succesful one. So guess where I'll be next sunday morning... And I really like the visuals of it's website, just have a look, I copied the link beneath the picture.

Now I'm going to enjoy a cup of Dr. Stuarts detox tea because I had an overdose of la dolce vita the last couple of weeks. Am going to think of some lovely healthy recipes for the coming week. And I decided to enjoy the view of the bottles I brought from South Africa instead of enjoying it's taste.
