Bubbletree

How amazing is this? Sleeping in your own personal bubble. Transparant, in the middle of nature. As I sometimes practically live in my own bubble, this would be a perfect match. Identity crisis

I just woke up after the most lovely sleep in quite a while which made me extremely happy and I also realized how important a good night's sleep is;-) And the fabulous sun is shining! It's white, sunny and magical so I really want to go outside. This time on my Uggs, whahaa. So the picture above covers al my inner fellings. I can feel the promise of the summer '12 already, even with -18 degrees celsius. So, if everything is going to work out (is is still safe to drive a car?!) I'm going to a biological market in Amsterdam Noord. Never been to this particular market so am a bit excited to come across some delicious products.     

Smokey quartz

Part of my 'post holiday blues coping strategy' consists of some flashback holiday moments. Like the moment I got a present in Capetown: the most wonderful smokey quartz earrings. Besides their classy and cute looks, I'm really fond of the meaning of the stone. I was attracted to the stone immediately and perhaps unconsciously due to its 'powers'. Smokey quartz provides protection from negative forces and provides a barrier of positive energy around the user. The stone improves insight in challenging activities as well as promoting creativity in business. And last but not least it promotes personal pride and joy in living.

Hip and Happening at 'The old biscuit mill'

Had a very enjoyable final day at Capetown. We took a taxi towards 'The old biscuit mill' just outside the citycentre of Capetown. Each saturday there's the so called 'Neighbourhoodmarket' with lovely food, drinks and handmade products. There really is a buzz around the market and the 'hip & happening of Capetown' seem to have centered around the mill. Even started to recognize some people of Bree street. Really funny to notice. I really enjoy observing people and this market was absolutely the place to be. We even encountered the paragliding team of Hermanus (was glad 'my' paraglidingpartner wasn't there by the way:). Unfortunately we ran out of cash so couldn't try all the delicious things but we really enjoyed the pizza below and we toasted on a wonderful holiday with some lovely bubbles: our final Rand spent well!

Laborie Wine Farm: a lovely surprise

I absolutely adore surprises, especially romantic ones. After my Hermanus adventure I longed for some low profile joie de vivre. Some peace, quiet and nature. I was ready to find my 'inner zen Pip'. And this of course in combination with some lovely wines because we were headed for THE wine area of South Africa. And what a surprise indeed: a romantic stay on the Laborie Wine Farm in Paarl. And the most wonderful thing was, the Laborie estate consists of seven rooms, each named and decorated after a type of wine. And I (of course there was no other option:) slept in the 'Sauvignon Blanc' room. A lovely room with a desk (see the picture underneath) I instantly fell in love with. The breakfast was fairytale like. With silver cutlery and we ate at a table with room for thirty people. Just like in the movies. The surprise made me really happy. Thanks H!
