Coeur Blonde Newspaper

One of the new things in my life is the 'Coeur Blonde Newspaper'. Together with Elle I started a mini creative summer of '12 project to spread happiness and a positive flow. The paper consists of 16 pages (tabloidsize)full of articles about the following themes: ☼ green ☼ hotspots ☼ DIY ☼ fashion ☼ body & soul ☼ food ☼ Madrid ☼ shopping ☼ collections ☼ lifestyle ☼ passions ☼ love ☼

It was an amazing challenge to create the newspaper from scratch. Almost all the images are photo's we took during our trips and everything that's in the newspaper has got a personal touch. From the shop where we just love to buy olive oil to the secret little studio where we love to stay in Paris. We're especially proud of the lay out of the paper and the 'Collection' page which consist of collections we made out of objects.

We made a digital booklet as a sneak preview. It's in Dutch but the lay out gives you a hint of the look & feel of the paper. We're zo glad we started and finished the creative process (we had some software setbacks;-). Now is the time to market the paper and have got to say, the first week went above expectations. The reactions are really cute and are giving us a wonderful boost. It's amazing to share the things that make you happy in life with others and we hope that it brings joy to other people.

Just have a look! If you wish to order a paper, just send us an e-mail: coeurblondepaper@gmail.com.

Love,

Pip

A strong urge to create

This post reflects the process of the Coeur Blonde Newspaper. Elle & I had a dream, wish and strong urge to create something. Amidst the social media overload we were longing for something tangible. Something to put in our love, creations and ideas and to share this with other people. It became an old fashioned medium: a newspaper. It was quite a process to take this step. Would there be people who would like (and even buy!) this newspaper? Or was it just a figment of our imagination? We soon decided to put this last thing aside: it would only slow down the flow we were in. And there was no commercial aim for the idea so it wouldn't really matter, although we were and are so hoping we can inspire people with the paper. And make them smile. Now, three months later, we're finishing the paper tomorrow! The most exciting thing is to come: the publishing. We so hope the colours will be as lovely on print as on the computer!

I love Pinterest! (and yes, I'm quite late;-)

As an extremely late adapter (I had an ict-excuse;) I'm now discovering all the inspirational pics on Pinterest. How wonderful and am afraid quite addictive as well! Moving on now, have got some pins to do!

Update: Coeur Blonde Newspaper

Good evening! Elle & I have been working surprisingly hard on the newspaper tonight: ♥ it. The snapshots above show the slightly chaotic work mode;-) But we have a lovely result, including a brand new facebookpage! Now we're going to try to empty our raging heads (with an overdose of creativity) so we can get a good nights sleep. Till tomorrow!

Valentine Gauthier ~ Deep Forest

Last May I visited Le Marais and discovered the very cute boutique of Valentine Gauthier. Beautiful clothes: lovely materials and colours. Quite a coincidence that the designer herself was in the shop and she helped me with the combination. I bought a very cute shirt and H bought me a lovely skirt to match. Can't wait for spring to arrive in Amsterdam;-) In June I'm returning to Le Marais and will visit the boutique again. As a preview I checked the site and found some inspirational stuff.
Deep forest is the theme of Valentine's '12 spring collection. And it's exotic, full of adventure and also spiritually inspired. I absolutely love the colours of this collection.

Something I just made

Restored ~ inspirational shop

Restored is a small unique shop that inspires. It sells products you really won't find in other shops and I simply love their concept! And above all, they sell Frankie Magazine;-)

A description from: http://restored.nl
"Restored is a shop at the Haarlemmerdijk in Amsterdam, run by David (29) and Marijke (28) Hukema. They both have a background in graphic design and they share a love for design and images.
Restored collects unique products, for you to browse, own, and cherish. We focus on representing talented young designers, and offering them a platform to bring their products and visions to a wider public."

Lady Desidia

How could I forget? To mention Lady Desidia after my visit to Madrid?! Shame on me. I absolutely love the items of Lady Desidia. I bought some stuff at La Antigua shop in Madrid and just found out that Lady Desidia has got her own blog! What a wondeful style. It makes me happy ;-)

Texel ~ 2

Really had a wonderful stay@Texel. Lovely walks, no alarm clock set in the morning and ok, it was quite a quest to find a decent latte machiatto... But we succeeded and I was utmost surpised to find a delicious Italian/Texels restaurant. It's called 'De Kern' and is located at Den Burg. Was amazed by the taste of the dishes. If you're going to Texel, you should really try it! http://www.restaurantdekern.com/

Businesscards+

I've got a little corner on the right side of my table (I like to be specific;) where I put the small businesscards from shops I like, free postcards etc. With the aim to categorize them and put them in a lovely notebook or so. For the time being, quite some extremely cute things are just 'lying' on that table... so I decided to take some pictures of them. And this one is from Madrid!

Pattern a day ~ Karina Manarin

Karina Manarin is a textile designer & artist who started the inspirational initiative to create and post a pattern a day. Every single part of the pattern is hers: the drawing, the pics and the Photoshop work. Such initiatives make me smile! I posted three of her patterns above. There are loads more which you can find @ http://patternaday2012.tumblr.com/
