Simple ayurvedic recipe: lemon juice

As I'm a great fan of lemons... In cakes & pies, on fish, in risotto, as limoncello, in ice and well, practically in everything, I was extremely happy to find out that lemon juice is a ayurvedic recipe! Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine native to India. It sees the body connected to the mind and to nature. The raw lemon juice helps you to purify the liver and is a wonderful tonic for the digestive system. And it's got a positive effect on your beauty & brains since it improves your complexion and it stimulates your mind. 

The recipe:

Add three or four table spoons of freshly squeezed lemon to a glass of lukewarm water. If you wish, you can add a bit of honey, but I prefer it without. Drink this everyday after you just woke up and before you have breakfast. I love it!

Pompon

Pompon is a tiny shop, full of beautiful, amazing flowers. At the beginning of the Prinsengracht (nearby the Noordermarkt)you can find Pompon. Ik bought this lovely rose to celebrate the start of the peonyrose season. I ♥ them! At the site of Pompon you can find some examples of flowers turned into art. 

Laura Amiss Design

About two years ago, whilst strolling on the Sunday Market in Amsterdam I discovered the work of Laura Amiss. I was immediately attracted to her work and bought one of her illustrations and later on I bought a textile via Etsy. Her designs make me happy. She's got her own signature and wonderful colour combinations. Which reminds me... in my new home her textile shall get a wonderfull place. Hopefully she'll return to the Sunday Market soon!

Nadéah ~ Nobody but you

Had a forced social media sabbatical due to the flu... Have got to say I'm not very good in being ill...I always find it very annoying and it's spoiling all my social plans etc. And then there's the Coeur Blonde newspaper deadline... But soit, am recovering now (this sounds a bit too serious;-) but my energylevel really has to heighten a bit. And during this process: a bit of yoga helps and music of course! And this is the new single of Nadéah, I really love her music. And the videoclip reminds me of the movie 'Sliding doors'. Really have got to see this movie again for like the fifth time.

What a delicious market! Have had the most wonderful afternoon with oysters, pumpkin taleggio pie, risotto with asparagus (you can buy it per spoon!), warm chorizo sausages, grilled lamb meat and real Italian coffee. I really love the concept of the market and there's such a nice atmosphere, everybody's simply enjoying the bites and drinks, chatting with each other and sitting on long tables. And you never know, perhaps you can find that piece of furniture that's missing in your home. There were actually some nice objects but I found the table above so funny, I couldn't resist taking a pic.

Have a very relaxing sunday!

Just woke up after a relatively short night ;- ) and decided to have a slow sunday. And this pictures inspires me to do this today. And it also makes me smile. Am going to bake some sunday morning pancakes now and then off to the neighbourfood market!

Kris Berry ~ Love trip

I really cant't stop playing Kris Berry. I bought her album in the beginning of this week and have been playing it at least once a day. Her music makes me happy! So, I selected another song of her for today: love trip. And, am also utterly happy with my North Sea Jazz festival ticket! Going on friday with my friends an my boyfriend. So looking forward to Melody Gardot!

My lemon from Sorrento

I forgot to mention something very important in my last post: that I also bought this delicious lemon. (And yes, I know this sounds weird;- ) The thing is, there's a difference in the type of lemons. You've got normal ones and special ones. This is a special one, from Sorrento (Italy). As I'm a great fan of lemons and love limoncello (the real one from Sorrento!) I had to try this Sorrento lemon. Just to test whether they really are that special or that they belong in the plain category. And have got to say, they're special! Intense, zesty and they taste  pure, as a lemon should taste in my opinion. I love it. Today I squeezed them in a waterbottle with cold water but am curious what would happen with it's taste if I combine the Sorrento lemon with a grilled fish or use it in a lemon tarte. I promise to investigate this ;- ) And am realising at this moment,I've still got the tiramisu in the fridge. Yammie! A wonderful start of this saturday morning, technically speaking.  

I couldn't resist: I love paper!

Had a wonderful afternoon! Enjoyed a lovely piece of carrot cake and got the best tiramisu ever for tonight. During my city stroll I bought these lovely sheets of wrapping paper and a very cute block calender with 52 ideas to help you break through your routine. A funny concept of Marloes Toonen, full of her own creative drawings.

Weekend!

My weekend has begun! So lovely. Got loads of creative plans and shopping to do (really craving for the local famous carrot cake of Delicious Food@Westerstraat ;- ) Decided to get up early to make the most out of the day. And now craving for a latte after selecting this picture I made in Cambridge last year. So funny, nowadays I love doing things all by myself, like having breakfast somewhere. I'm really looking forward to today, just strolling around, no plans or strict schedules, just going with the flow...

Update: Coeur Blonde Newspaper

Good evening! Elle & I have been working surprisingly hard on the newspaper tonight: ♥ it. The snapshots above show the slightly chaotic work mode;-) But we have a lovely result, including a brand new facebookpage! Now we're going to try to empty our raging heads (with an overdose of creativity) so we can get a good nights sleep. Till tomorrow!     

Letting go my spring expectations

Am afraid I've got to let the 'I really want it to be spring~mode' go. It's too cold out here in Amsterdam to even be in a wanne~be spring mode;-) but that doesn't matter. So, with this picture I took during the spring of 2011, I officially let my expectations go. Although I can't wait to wear my skirts & dresses again, but before you know it's summer again...
